Social Circus – A Guide to Good Practices is the product of a research team based in Finland who spent two years, from 2009 to 2011, researching and practicing social circus.
This Guidebook is just one part of a bigger project that is administered by The Centre for Practice as Research in Theatre at Tampere University and funded by the European Social Fund through The Lapland Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment.
Their goal, as stated on their website, is to, “help circus organizations produce quality social circus for special groups, give the organizations necessary marketing tools to turn social circus into a product for welfare services.”
Their target audience is circus groups in Finland, but their work is applicable no matter where you are in the world. For more information about the project and to download a free copy of the guidebook please visit the website.
